ŞAHİNBEY CENTRAL DISTRICT The district got its name from Şahinbey, killed in Antep Defence and it is in the South of the city. According to the address-based population registration system of 2012, the total population of the city is 795.283, and the population of the city center is 782.899. Şahinbey, which is one of the biggest central district in Türkiye and has many historic buildings. You can find many small industials here and there are many small workshops especially as food , textile, cleaning products shops. At the same time, this part is the shopping center of the city. Suburcu, Karagöz, Hürriyet, Gaziler, Türkmenler Streets, Karataş and Atatürk Avenue are always crowded due to plenty of shopping places.
