Gaziantep Atatürk Remembrance Museum

This structure in the historical Bey District (Bey Mahallesi) consists of two buildings with shared courtyard, the first section housing a replica of the room in which Atatürk stayed on his visit, and some of his original personal belongings. The second building contains the Atatürk Research Library and the Oral History Research Room in which the events of the Defence of Antep are related. The story of the heroes of the Defence is told through film, and also on display are articles used by the people of the period. The room where Atatürk stayed is recreated in the Remembrance Museum with original furnishings, and contains many valuable items such as the coffee cup he used during his visit and the books he read, hundreds of publications about the city’s history, and stories of the heroes of the day.
